2013-02-28 22:16:53
he Sustainable Business Conference (SBC) is a student-led conference which brings together all facets of the HEC Paris community. First held in 2003, the annual event seeks to demonstrate how governments, corporations and communities may benefit from exacting positive social change through sustainability.
This year’s theme, From the Green Line to the Bottom Line: Creating Company Value through Sustainability, reinforces the idea of using sustainability in for-profit businesses as well as how to measure the social, environmental and economic impact of corporate activities.
More specifically, it will discuss the ways in which businesses may:
- Capitalise on Sustainable Opportunities in Global Markets, both at the bottom of the pyramid and in advanced economies
- Implement Sustainable Business Models through restructuring for sustainability and creating a positive value chain
- Learn the importance of Integrated Reporting in Measuring, Assessing and Managing Value, both in terms of its current relevance overall, and to investors
Finally, to celebrate the Sustainable Business Conference’s 10th Anniversary, the event is being transported from its traditional home on the lush, green campus of HEC Paris in Jouy-en-Josas to Les Docks de Paris, in the north of Paris. The international city will be the perfect scene in which to host the diverse and widely renowned line-up of speakers, including high-level business leaders and academic researchers, who will add credence to this auspicious occasion.
